Material Worlds

Simon J. Bronner, Series Editor

Books in this series explore worlds of our own making. Series authors interpret the ways that people and communities create environments, traditions, and symbols from art, architecture, furnishing, food, and dress. In addition to showing the cultural and personal values that artifacts and environments reveal, the series sheds light on the diversity and dynamics of material worlds across the social landscape. Whether exotic or close to home, the worlds uncovered in this series bring about reflection on the ways that "material" and "culture" come together in everyday lives.

Books in the series:

•Designing the Centennial: A History of the 1876 International Exhibition in Philadelphia by Bruno Giberti

•Culinary Tourism, Edited by Lucy M. Long

Funeral Festivals in America: Rituals for the Living by Jacqueline S. Thursby
