Screen Classics

Series Editor:
Patrick McGilligan

Screen Classics is a new series of critical biographies, film histories, and analytical studies focusing on neglected filmmakers and important screen artists and subjects from the earliest stirrings of silent cinema through to the Golden Age of Hollywood and the international generation of today. The books will have scholarly merit but are also intended to appeal to the general reader; the writers will include established figures in the field as well as newer authors. Select books in the series will focus on film personalities or themes with ties to Kentucky. Submissions are welcome.

The advising editor for this series is biographer and film historian Patrick McGilligan, author or editor of  several books, most recently the Edgar-nominated Alfred Hitchcock: A Life in Darkness and Light.

Books in the series:
The Marxist and the Movies: A Biography of Paul Jarrico by Larry Ceplair
