Women in Southern Culture

Books in this series examine the experiences of women across the full range of southern history, with special attention to the influence of race, ethnicity, and class. In addition to individual biographies, the series includes intensive studies of particular groups during different eras in the region's past. Though its focus is historical, this interdisciplinary series encompasses literary, sociological, and other approaches to the lives of southern women.
